NEW AMERICAN STANDARD BIBLES
The New American Standard Bible (NASB) was produced in 1971 by conservative scholars who wanted to provide a literal and conservative revision of the American Standard Version (ASV). The literal word-for-word translation of the original Greek, Hebrew and Aramaic manuscripts makes the New American Standard Bible the best translation for close study of the Scriptures. The New American Standard Bible was updated in 1995. This "Updated Edition" is less literal than the original, and it is this Updated Edition that is commonly used in many Christian Colleges and seminaries because of its strict adherence to the original manuscripts.
